Description:
A first aid kit is essential for summer safety. Carry it with you on day trips and vacations. Make sure that you the kit includes: scissors, tweezers, a thermometer, safety pins, eyewash cup, elastic bandage, sterile gauze pads, waterproof tape, butterfly bandages, antibiotic ointment, large cloth, hydrogen peroxide, anti-diarrhea medicine, motion sickness pills, sunscreen, lip balm, zinc ointment, calamine lotion, aloe leaf, small boxes of raisins, waterproof matches, a flashlight, doctorÆs phone number, snakebite and sting kits, and whatever else you keep handy in your medicine cabinet.

Take a Red Cross First Aid and/or CPR class to better handle family emergencies.

Read reference books about plants and bugs to help better protect your family from common summer ailments.

Be aware of your childÆs sensitivities and needs and protect her or him as such. For example, if your child is allergic to bee stings, make sure that he or she always wears shoes. Yellow jackets nest on the ground and stepping on their home could be dangerous.
